Lisa O'Brien
Lisa O'Brien began working at Community Roots during the summer of 2015. She grew up on a farm on the New Hampshire Seacoast and spent much of her childhood caring for cattle, chickens, sheep and horses. Her family also farmed vegetables and hay. Lisa continues the tradition of haying on this same farm each summer. It is these enriching experiences that she is eager to share with the children who come to Coppal House Farm.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Vermont in Human Development and Family Studies and a Masters degree from Lesley University in Early Childhood Education. She has been a first grade teacher for nineteen years. Lisa is looking forward to teaching in an outdoor environment this summer with new and returning campers.

Pilar Redmond
Community Roots began in the spring of 2013 by Pilar Redmond. She saw it as a way to connect people to the amazing agricultural resources right in their back yards. Her hope was to help children, and their families, understand the importance of local food, small farms, community, and the environment in everyday life. Pilar will be moving on to something new but has entrusted Community Roots Farm Camp to Lisa O'Brien. Lisa is a natural fit for the program and will keep all the amazing things about farm camp intact and bring lots of her own special touches! We are so very happy to see camp continue!
